Kurt Fearnley wins gold Kurt Fearnley wins goldPosted October 13, 2011, by Sue Stevens Kurt Fearnley, who was recently interviewed on the Career FAQs site, has won the Gold medal in a close finish in the wheelchair marathon. After a week of drama and mixed results, Kurt adds this Gold to his medal count of two Silvers for the 800 metres and 5000 metres and a Bronze in the 1500 metres. After being clipped by a fellow competitor in the 1500 metres, Kurt came from last to take the Bronze. Winning Gold in the wheelchair marathon by a couple of seconds from his nearest rival after racing for one hour 23 minutes and 17 seconds indicates the determination of this young athlete who held in a close finish to to make the Gold medal his.
